Rosa Parks wasn’t tired — she was done. On December 1, 1955, she refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. That act of resistance ignited the Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped launch the modern Civil Rights Movement.

Parks was a trained activist, a lifelong freedom fighter, and a strategist who knew her silence would make noise. Her courage shook a city and mobilized a nation.
